Vintage Brooch

This is another fast, yet very beautiful project. When I was visiting the craft store the other day, I saw this gorgeous, vintage-inspired pendant. I have been thinking for a while of making something using this type of craft decoration. I am sure you have seen plenty of similar d.i.y projects on Pinterest. This is my version! So, let me walk you through a few simple steps of how to make this elegant Vintage Brooch.

Step 1.

In a “wavy” motion, cut one strip of each fabric, approximately 42". (Note: Only one side of each strip is cut utilizing the “wavy” motion!) Place Fray Check liquid on the wavy side of each of the strips in order to prevent from fraying.
Step 2.Place the sheer strip on the top of the other strip with the “wavy” sides on top of each other. Using a thread and needle, loosely stitch along the length of the strips, stitching them together (Note: Stitch together the straight sides!) Once you stitch the pieces together, pull the thread and push the fabric down to make it scrunch together, making it look like a scrunchy. Make sure to secure to prevent it from becoming undone. Finally, roll the scrunchy arranging it into a beautiful flower. Stitch up the bottom to prevent it from falling apart.Step 3.
Using felt and a glue gun, glue a pin to the felt. Make sure it is secure! Then glue that piece to the base of the flower.
Step 4.
Use a pendant and sew it to the center of the flower.

Here you have it! A Vintage-inspired Brooch!
